How much did Nazi germany spend on the holocaust?
Nazi Germany set up quite a bureaucracy to implement the holocaust. Does anyone know how much they spent on this program. It involved locating and moving millions of people. Of course they did save some money because the people the located and moved were denied due process. But they still built a huge infrastructure that managed to exterminate 12 million people. If we knew what this effort cost them, could we use this number to estimate what it would cost to locate, process and deport 12 million illegal aliens in the US?
Well, to be fair to the nativists, there would be no need for added infrastructure to deport mass numbers of undocumented immigrants. (Detention facilities and bureaucracy already exist for handling such cases.) However, the mere logistics, alone, to accomplish this feat would incur a huge cost and, as someone else pointed out, would be self-defeating relative to the cheap labor these immigrants provide in many industries.
Also, the nativists would not mind at all denying due process to undocumented immigrants (as the Nazis did to Jews and anyone else who opposed them) since they wholeheartedly believe that only citizens should be afforded constitutional protections. Then again, there have been numerous documented cases of actual American citizens being wrongfully deported due to faulty paperwork, identity theft, and, of course, racial profiling by overzealous law enforcement. Yet, do not expect the nativists to be dissuaded the least bit. They are more than willing to “shed innocent blood” in order to carry out their agenda.
